Important Message Regarding SDCBA Operations and Coronavirus

From Executive Director Jill Epstein and President Johanna Schiavoni

Dear San Diego County Bar Association Members,

Though the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that risk of contracting coronavirus in the United States is low, as an organization, we have chosen to go above and beyond CDC-recommended guidelines and are taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of our staff and members.

To that end, we are closing the SDCBA Bar Center from Friday, March 6 through Friday, March 13 to limit public interactions within our space. We will evaluate this fast-moving situation next Friday and will post an update on our website (sdcba.org) and will communicate with you by email to address whether the Bar Center will re-open on Monday, March 16.

Staff will continue to report to work and will be available via phone and email during regular work hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).

To minimize the disruption to meetings and programs, all SDCBA meetings scheduled for our Bar Center between Friday, March 6 and Friday, March 13 may conduct business using the SDCBA conference call lines or will be given the opportunity to re-schedule for a later date. Additionally, preparations are being made to hold upcoming CLE events via webinar should our public spaces remain closed after March 13.

We are taking this route in order to effectuate best practices and to protect our staff and members, while maintaining continuity of operations.

Thank you for your patience and for helping us keep SDCBA a healthy and safe place for all.
