Special Message to the SDCBA Membership

Dear Members,

We understand that this is a time of great anxiety for many of our members—as you contemplate how to keep your families safe, manage your law practices, serve your clients, maintain your business, and juggle other responsibilities.

Like so many organizations in San Diego, we are routinely monitoring announcements from state and local government leaders regarding stay-at-home orders. Even when non-essential businesses are allowed to resume operations, we will have many issues to address to protect our staff and members. We want to reassure you that we continue to be proactive in our preparations to ensure a safe and responsible reopening.

At this time, we have extended our planned Bar Center and office closure to May 29. Our staff remains available to serve you, virtually, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

In addition, we continue to offer a robust calendar of virtual events, including our upcoming series “Marketing Your Practice in a Down Economy.” This unique and highly relevant offering includes five different webinars, one each day from Monday through Friday, May 11 – 15. These programs are FREE to all SDCBA members, and will be facilitated by experts in marketing, technology, law practice management, public relations, and digital communications strategies.

Our Board of Directors continues to meet on the second Tuesday evening of each month, via video conference, and will extend that practice until we are able to congregate in the office. As always, if you have questions or would like more information about operations, governance, or other aspects of the Association, you can reach out to us as follows: Executive Director Jill Epstein at jepstein@sdcba.org or President Johanna Schiavoni at johanna@schiavoni-law.com.

We recognize and respect that lawyering is a profession based in part on relationships and we look forward to once again hosting you at in-person events. Until that time, we are doing everything possible to help you foster and grow relationships with your colleagues and friends across the County with continuing virtual events, as well as through our ever-popular Section listservs. Whether in person or working remotely, as an SDCBA member, you never have to go it alone.

Sending you our best wishes.
