President’s Message: December 6, 2021

Hello December! You’re the last one, so be the best one!” Not only is it the last month of the year, but it is also the last month of my term as President of the SDCBA. What a ride it has been, and I’m so grateful to have taken the journey with you all.

We’re not quite done yet, so for those feeling festive, make sure to break out your favorite ugly holiday sweater tomorrow for our Multi-Section Ugly Sweater Social. Thank you to ADR, Civil Litigation, Labor & Employment, and Real Property Law Sections for this fun joint event at the Carté Hotel.

If the holidays have you feeling down or stressed out, you can find some peace and recharge with Amy Lepine during a guided meditation on Wednesday at noon, so that you have the energy you need to show up with bells on to Stepping Up to the Bar this Friday at the U.S. Grant. Sometimes the best gift we can give ourselves is a little recharge!

And since it can’t all be parties, I leave you with two items to mark off your 2022 checklist:
1. Make sure to sign up as an attorney scorer for the 2022 San Diego Mock Trial Competition in February; and
2. Make sure to RENEW your SDCBA dues! You can get your 2022 membership at 2020 rates. I just renewed as a Patron Member, and I hope you’ll join me.

Cheers to ending this year strong and dreaming big dreams for next year.

Yours,

Renée N.G. Stackhouse
2021 SDCBA President
