President’s Message: March 15, 2021

We’ve spent a lot of time over the last year focusing inward. And, let me be clear, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. We’ve faced hard times and we’ve needed to focus on ourselves, our family, and our small communities to get through it. Now, it feels like it’s kismet that the world is starting to slowly open up as we approach the spring, proverbially and literally blooming. It’s time to start feeling the sun on our faces, even as we soak in these uncharacteristic recent rainstorms.

It’s time to come back to our profession with confidence.

You can start this week by getting up to speed with our Labor & Employment Law Section’s “What’s New and Notable – Employment Law Update 2021” on Wednesday. Or join the SDCBA and LACBA on Thursday for the Environmental Law 34th Annual Spring Super Symposium. You can get tips on Mediating and Arbitrating FINRA Claims with our ADR Section next week on March 25.

The SDCBA is here to make sure that you go into your office, whether you’re back in a commercial space or working from home, each day feeling like you have the resources you need to succeed.

I want to give a special shout-out and sincere thank you to our tireless Section leaders who plan these programs with that in mind. With you in mind.

The last year has been tough, but so are you. You’ve got this. We’ve got this.

Yours,
Renée N.G. Stackhouse
2021 SDCBA President
