Message from Community Outreach Co-Chair

Message from Community Outreach Co-Chair

By Dani Glazer Signaigo
Attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, PC

SDCBA Members,

I am excited to be writing this message as one of the Community Outreach Co-Chairs of the San Diego County Bar Association’s New Lawyer Division (“NLD”).  If you’re not familiar, the Community Outreach team coordinates pro bono and volunteer events for new lawyers and law students across San Diego County.

As a quick introduction, I am a senior associate in the corporate department at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, PC. I work with startups, both in California and nationally, helping them get started, get funded, go public, and get sold.

Events by the SDCBA, the NLD, and specifically our Community Outreach team, are great opportunities to get to know the community, provide services where they are needed, and network with peers and potential mentors.

To that end, NLD has our toy drive coming up, which will run from September 27 through October 10.  We encourage you to donate any new or slightly used toys for kids to play with (and take home) when they attend Juvenile Court.  More details to come.

For fun, community, and wellness, our NLD Social Team also has a hiking event coming up on November 9, co-sponsored by the SDCBA’s Wellness Committee—stay tuned for more details!

In addition, please make sure to join the NLD CLE team for their next “Lunch and Learn” event coming up this October with a San Diego Superior Court Judge.  More details will be featured in an upcoming listserv email by our Chair Elijah Gaglio. After that, our next “Lunch and Learn” event will be in January 2025 and will be focused on depositions.

Please feel free to reach out to any of the Executive Committee members and/or event hosts if you’d like to get more involved in NLD activities. We’re happy to be available as a resource for our members, and we welcome questions and suggestions. Specifically, if you have an idea for a pro bono or volunteer project that you would like us to present, please reach out to me at daniglazer@wsgr.com to share your thoughts! I would also welcome the chance to get to know my local colleagues better, so feel free to reach out just to chat or meet for coffee.

Additionally, please contact Co-Editors in Chief, Lillian Glenister and Linda Nelte, if you’d like to write an article for a future publication at lkglenister@gmail.com and linda.nelte@mmpph.com.

And finally, don’t forget to make sure you’re on our listserv and follow us on LinkedIn for regular updates on events. Thanks for being an NLD member, and we look forward to seeing you at the next event!
