Message from the Social Chair 

Hello all and hope your May 2024 has started strong. My name is Matthew Spolsky, and I am the Social Chair of NLD. Earlier this month it was Well-Being Week in Law, I hope you were all able to get out of the office in some meaningful way to de-stress. If not, now’s the time to get some nice spring weather before the heat comes! 

I am currently a commercial litigation associate at Clark Hill, LLP. I work out of their Downtown San Diego office. I have worked as a litigation attorney since I passed the bar, and before that I was handling health plan subrogation matters in the state. 

I have been working with the NLD for almost two years now. I started as a staff writer on For the Record and then was Co-Editor in Chief last year with Linda Nelte. I took over as Social Chair this year to try something new and to help NLD grow. Last month, NLD and the Entertainment & Sports Law Section of the SDCBA hosted a game night and invited NLD members to watch the Gulls game. We are planning more events for the late summer and fall, so we hope to see you at one of those events soon! 

This month NLD participated in the North County Bar Association’s May Faire. The event was a success, and we were able to connect with recently admitted lawyers with an interest in participating in NLD! Thank you to those who came out to support the event!
