Message from the NLD Chair
Holiday Greetings NLD!
As this year comes to an end, I find myself bidding farewell to 2023 with a sense of gratitude for the NLD executive committee that I have served with this past year. Their hard work and dedication in helping new lawyers be successful in their careers is unmatched. I have had the privilege of working alongside a group of talented individuals who are passionate about serving their legal community.
At this time, I want to introduce and congratulate the NLD’s Executive Committee for the 2024 year. Your Chair — Elijah Gaglio, Vice Chair — Claudia Salinas, Members at Large — Linda Nelte, Dani Sali Glazer Signaigo, Matthew Spolsky, Catharine McGlynn, Shubhra Sharma, and Lillian Glenister. Thank you for your commitment to new lawyers. If anyone reading this is interested in becoming part of the Executive Committee as a subdivision member, please reach out to us for more information!
I also want to take a moment to thank all of our members and those who joined us throughout the year at our events. Whether you joined us for our Tips from the Bench CLE with Judge Dana Sabraw, community outreach events, social hikes, the summer social, speed networking, or trivia, it was a pleasure getting an opportunity to connect with each and every one of you in person. In addition, thank you to all of our contributors to the For the Record Newsletter.
If you haven’t had a chance to join us this year, there are still two more events NLD is hosting. On November 21, 2023, at noon, NLD will be having an in-person and online Tips from the Bench with Judge Wohlfeil in his Courtroom. Register here. Save the date: On December 7, 2023, at 5:30 pm NLD will be hosting an ugly sweater holiday drive collection, where we will be collecting blankets and sweaters.
Please also join the SDCBA for the annual Stepping Up to the Bar event on December 1, 2023, at the U.S Grant where incoming Chair Elijah Gaglio will be sworn into the 2024 Board. Register here!
It has been an honor serving NLD as your Chair and being a part of the NLD’s executive committee for the past three years. Although I graduate from being a “new” lawyer this year, and say goodbye to this chapter, it is a reminder that we are capable of new beginnings. As always please continue to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.
