We continue to prioritize our efforts to inform and connect our members. We’ve established special webpages providing a roundup of updates from courts across California and with pertinent news and resources for the legal community. And if you’re not already using our Section listervs, you can join for free from your profile page and stay connected to hundreds of your fellow attorneys sharing tips, ideas, and resources.
Please also join us on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. for our Virtual Lunch/Town Hall. Bring your favorite brown bag fare, settle in front of your screen, and join me, Executive Director Jill Epstein, and your fellow Bar members for this lunchtime dialogue. We’ll share key findings from our recent Member Survey, which asked how the Bar can best support you during the COVID-19 crisis, as well as help you transition back to your lawyer life in the future. We’ll also answer your questions and hear your ideas. Register here »
On the legal tech front, we continue to bring you informative webinars to help you manage your law practice from home. Tomorrow’s free #TechTuesday program, Home Alone: How Do I Do That?, will help you navigate tasks you may now be handling on your own. And, last week’s event, How to Conduct Virtual Mediations, offered a helpful tutorial for mediators. These are the latest in our series of tech webinars, which you can view here.
We also want to share terrific content from other organizations. Small businesses and sole proprietors looking to access government funds may be particularly interested in the recent National Conference of Bar Presidents “21st Century Lawyer” webinar: “SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan and the CARES stimulus Act.”
As we announced last week, a digital edition of the latest San Diego Lawyer Magazine is available to view online here. This issue’s theme is The Business of Law, offering you useful guidance on managing your law firm as a successful business. In the upcoming May/June issue of San Diego Lawyer Magazine, we will celebrate Women in the Law in San Diego. In addition to in-depth articles showcasing the past and present of local women in the profession, we’re also looking to highlight local women attorneys in the magazine’s photo gallery. Please take a moment to submit a picture and a short statement about a female friend or colleague who motivates and inspires you through her dedication to the legal field. While we can’t feature every submission in the Magazine, we’d certainly love to feature your submissions on social media.
As always, the SDCBA is here for you. Our best wishes for your continued safety, health, and success as we navigate this new normal together.
