In case you were still blissfully enjoying your “endless” summer, here is your friendly Public Service Announcement that you’ve only got about three weeks left to soak in that summer sun. This week marks the start of September! The Pumpkin Spice Latte is already back at Starbucks. Halloween is in 62 days. Diwali is in 66 days. Thanksgiving is in 87 days. Hanukkah is in 90 days. Christmas is in 117 days. Kwanzaa is in 118 days. I count down to this time of year because Autumn is my favorite season, and Halloween is my favorite holiday.
Not only are we rolling over into September this week, but our Signature Breakouts with the Bench programs are also kicking off this week with Juvenile Law on September 1. This free event will take place on Zoom, and we hope that this medium will allow members from all over the county to take advantage of the opportunity to personally connect with judges and each other.
For those who are new to our Breakouts, we begin the program with a short group introduction and then transition to, you guessed it, breakout rooms with small groups that will each feature at least one judge.
Make sure to also save September 15 for the next Breakouts with the Bench: Criminal Law. You are welcome to attend as many of these Breakouts events as you wish! Even if it’s not your practice area, you can always join and enjoy building a connection with others. I look forward to seeing you in the breakout rooms!
