Volunteer with NLD at the 41st Annual Children’s Book Party

As the Co-Chair for NLD’s Community Outreach events, I would like to invite you to participate in the 41st Annual Children’s Book Party, taking place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, between 7:00 a.m.and 10:30 a.m., at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park. This impactful event, led by Roosevelt Brown, has promoted literacy and community engagement for over four decades. Mr. Brown was recently honored with a medal of recognition for his lifelong dedication to this cause.
As volunteers, your support will help this event come to fruition. You will assist in:
- Distributing free books to children;
- Providing juice and other refreshments;
- Helping with crowd control as students arrive by bus; and
- Assisting with event setup and coordination.

We had the pleasure of teaming up with Mr. Brown for this event last year, and it was a tremendous success. We are excited to return and hope to see many of you there—some familiar faces and some new ones. Juice donations are very much appreciated and will help keep the children refreshed and energized throughout the day.
